Leah Thompson is a Clinical Nurse with the Sexual Assault Support Service (SASS) at Kobi Place, Toowoomba. A graduate of the University of Southern Queensland, Leah spent eight years as an emergency nurse before transitioning into frontline sexual assault care and forensic health. She is a qualified Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) and is currently completing postgraduate qualifications in Forensic Nursing and Midwifery at Monash University to qualify as a Forensic Nurse Examiner (FNE). At this year’s GP Symposium, Leah will provide general practitioners with essential insights into the local services offered by SASS, best-practice strategies for responding to trauma disclosures, and the immediate clinical and legal pathways available to patients.
