Jenny Minchell CNC is Co-chair of the State-wide Smoking Cessation Workgroup and has over 30 years’ experience working in QLD Health AOD treatment services. For the last 7 years, Jenny has worked in the Toowoomba Acute and Community Mental Health Unit, providing support with treatment plans for patients with complex co-occurring disorders. Jenny is a Credentialed Mental Health Nurse with the Australian College of Mental Health Nursing, MACN and is current steering committee member of the QLD Mental Health Clinical Collaborative. As a credentialed Nicotine Treatment Specialist, Jenny enjoys the challenge of motivating administrators, clinicians, and consumers to support smoke free and tobacco free health care. To help, she has introduced several innovative interventions for smokers in acute and community mental health settings. Most recently, Jenny has become the first nurse in Qld to be credentialed with a specific scope of practice as a Nicotine Treatment Specialist. This includes ordering specialized NRT plans for inpatients in the acute mental health unit.
