Jenny Minchell CNC is the Dual Diagnosis Coordinator for Darling Downs Mental Health & AODS with over 25 years’ experience. Jenny is a Credentialed Mental Health Nurse, Credentialed Drug and Alcohol Nurse and is also credentialed as a Nicotine Treatment Specialist Specialist. Jenny is a long standing steering committee member of the QLD Mental Health Clinical Collaborative and co-chair of the State-wide Smoking Cessation Workgroup, assisting with the development of QLD Health guidelines for vaping, setting up smoking cessation clinics and carbon monoxide monitoring for smoking management.
As a credentialed Nicotine Treatment Specialist, Jenny enjoys the challenge of motivating administrators, clinicians, and consumers to support smoke free and tobacco free health care. Most recently, Jenny has become the first nurse in Qld to be credentialed with a specific scope of practice as a Nicotine Treatment Specialist. This includes ordering specialized NRT plans for inpatients in the acute mental health unit.
