Dr John Waugh FRACP FRACMA is a paediatrician and medical administrator, currently serving as Director of Paediatrics at Ipswich Hospital.
Over the past 30 years, Dr Waugh has held a range of senior clinical and leadership roles, including Director of Paediatrics at Logan, Redcliffe and Caboolture Hospitals, and Director of Medical Services at Caboolture Hospital. He has also worked in private paediatric practice, as a VMO paediatrician at Nambour Hospital, and in community child health.
Dr Waugh has served as a Director of Clinical Training and was previously Deputy Head of the Northside Clinical School for The University of Queensland Medical School. He has a strong interest in improving health systems—or, depending on your perspective, meddling and moving on.
Outside of medicine, Dr Waugh is a keen astronomer and will happily talk about telescopes and stars for longer than you may have planned, so having a code word ready is recommended.
