Dr Eliza Pearson works full-time as a Rheumatologist at Toowoomba Base Hospital, where she has been providing specialist rheumatology care since February 2025. Prior to this appointment, Eliza completed her Rheumatology Advanced Training at Townsville University Hospital, followed by two years at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, where she also served as Chief Medical Registrar in 2024.
Eliza is passionate about delivering comprehensive rheumatological care across the full spectrum of disease, with a particular focus on improving access and outcomes for patients living in rural, regional and remote communities. Her commitment to reducing health inequity is shaped by her rural upbringing in Ulmarra, a small community outside Grafton, NSW, which fostered a strong understanding of the healthcare challenges faced by regional populations.
Eliza is the Queensland State Representative for the Women in Rheumatology Association and serves on the 2025–2026 Rheumatology Advanced Training Selection Committee. She is also an RACP Advanced Training Supervisor and is passionate about medical education, mentoring the next generation of physicians and strengthening connections between specialist services and regional communities.
