Dr. Taylor’s family links to the Darling Downs prompted her choosing studies at the University of Queensland Rural Medical School in 2011. Since then Dr. Taylor has worked at the Toowoomba hospital as a junior doctor and registrar and rotated through Brisbane sites including the Princess Alexandra, Logan and Redcliffe Hospitals. Dr. Taylor gained Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians in 2019 and returned to Toowoomba to start as a Staff Specialist Geriatrician in 2020. At Toowoomba Hospital in 2020, Dr. Taylor was integral to the establishment of the Hospital in the Home Community Aged Care (HITHCAC) team, alongside work with the Geriatric Emergency Department Initiative (GEDI) and Virtual Ward team. In late 2025 she transitioned to working with the Acute Geriatric Evaluation Service (AGES), looking after nursing home residents in hospital and via home visits and telehealth to residential aged care facilities around the district. Dr. Taylor was until recently a part of the Infinity Specialist group (from 2020-2025) focusing on outpatient dementia diagnosis and longitudinal care and offering domiciliary consultation for general geriatric medicine issues in nursing homes in Toowoomba and Dalby. In late 2025 she decided to streamline work to one regular location at Toowoomba Hospital to better balance work with parenting her young family, but maintains a strong collegiate working relationship with the team at Infinity Specialists. Dr. Taylor has an ongoing interest in teaching and mentoring junior doctors at all stages and welcomes medical students to join her team.
